School of Nursing

The School of Nursing Admissions & Enrollment Services is committed to assisting current and future nursing students. We provide information on school requirements for clinical experiences, advice on meeting university academic requirements and assistance with the application process to our nursing programs. Students are assigned faculty advisors who help them plan their academic schedule and answer questions on nursing careers.

Students at the regional campuses, not officially in the School of Nursing, but who are interested in Nursing should contact Dorine Nagy, Admissions & Recruitment Coordinator. She can be reached at Dorine.Nagy@uconn.edu and phone 860-486-1937.

Students can petition to change their majors to Nursing. It is not necessary to take NURS 1110 or 1130 before petitioning. However, students should have taken BIOL 1107 and CHEM 1122. Students must have completed physics in high school or college to apply to the School of Nursing. The petition deadline is February 1st. The Petition for School Change form is on the Nursing website. Students can also access the Nursing undergraduate curriculum for more information.
