Academic Center for Exploratory Students (ACES)

ACES is UConn's academic advising program for students who want to explore the University's academic opportunities before deciding on a field of study and for students who must complete specific requirements before applying to a University program. ACES students at Storrs are assigned to professional advisors. Students are encouraged to declare their major by the end of their sophomore year but in some cases it is appropriate for students to stay in ACES beyond their fourth semester.

Regional campus students who plan to come to Storrs will meet their Storrs based ACES advisor during their first few weeks at the Storrs campus during a mandatory meet and greet session. The advisor assignment will officially change just prior to the start of their initial semester at Storrs. However, regional campus students can contact the ACES office in Storrs at any time with advising questions.
